A Dolly For Lizzie

Lizzie kept trying to steal little baby dolls from Emma and Abby while they were playing house in the living room. Since the older girls were distressed by the idea of great gobs of baby drool all over their "children," we decided it was time for Lizzie to have her own doll. Emma dubbed the new friend, quite appropriately, "Pretty Baby." Lizzie uses her doll to talk to, squeeze, chew on, drool on, wave around, sleep with, snuggle with, nurse with, go to church with, ride in the car with, whack it, kick it and all around LOVE it. We are amazed at how quickly she has gotten attached to her new best friend since she is not yet 6 months old. Lizzie is growing up so fast!! Did we mention she's trying to grow a molar as her first tooth? Quite advanced now, isn't she?

What's So Funny?

Lizzie is laughing

at her silly sisters

Emma and Abby love to make Lizzie laugh. It makes for good entertainment, watching the antics the girls come up with. Lizzie enjoys the attention and lets the girls know she appreciates them with plenty of giggles, smiles, hugs and wet kisses.

Our Ninth Anniversary: Probably Not What You Expected

We went mini-golfing with the girls to celebrate our ninth anniversary on July 16. We enjoyed the nice weather and had a good time teaching Emma and Abigail how to putt. Dates are overrated anyway, aren't they? Maybe next year on our tenth when there are no nursing babies.....

The Little People at the Softball Game

The kids always play so well together during the softball games. I got them all to pose for a picture together before we went home. Pictured are (from l to r) Jaden and Tyler White, Abigail, Hannah Hamm, Gabe and Emma.

What Lizzie was Doing...

Lizzie was a good girl as usual. She enjoyed being held by friends from church and playing with toys in her stroller.

While the Grownups Play....

The kids enjoyed making up their own games and playing in the dirt while the softball game was being played. Abby smiled so pretty for me...I don't think she realized she had a big dirt smear on her forehead. So precious!

Team Huddle After Winning the Game

Does This Look Like a Winning Smile?

I captured this face from Doug as he came off the field right after winning the game. I guess this is his excited face.

A Fun Night of Softball for All

Mondays are softball nights for our church league. This week was such a beautiful evening, I recorded a few pictures for you to enjoy. Doug is the pitcher for our team, and we won our game. That makes 3 wins total for the season so far.

Lizzie Loves Applesauce!

Hard to believe Lizzie is already ready for solid foods! She's about a month younger than our other two were when they started, but she was definitely ready! She knew just what to do with the spoon and none of the food came back out! She was leaning into the spoon and cried when I didn't get the spoon back to her mouth fast enough. She seems so big now:)

Cute Cousins Say Goodbye

On Flag Day, it was time to go home to Madison, Wisconsin. We posed the girls for pictures before getting on the road. The girls were sad to leave. Our trip home took about 9 hours due to the flooding at the Dells and road closings. But that's a story for another time.

More Playtime in the Cities

On Friday morning, Esther and I took the girls down to Delano to play with the Mehlhaff bunch. The kids enjoyed the park and lunch at the Peppermint Twist where they played on the "car."

Playtime in the Cities

We enjoyed the beautiful spring weather while we were in Minnesota. We spent some time outside with the kids at the park. Doug enjoyed playing some himself, as you can see. He quickly wore out, though.

Visiting a New Niece/Cousin

On June 12-14, we went down to the Twin Cities to visit Thelia's new baby sister, Adelyn. We all agree she's a sweetie! Lizzie and Adelyn were almost the same size, even though Lizzie is 4 months older.

Lizzie and the Kitty

The month of June just flew past at our house. It's been about a month since I last posted. June was a busy month around here! First off, Lizzie found a new friend, or should I say, he found her. Bailey jumped onto Lizzie's lap one Saturday morning while she was sitting in her bouncy seat. She was surprised at first but quickly thought it was fun. Don't worry, we didn't let him stay too long, and we didn't let her put the furry hands in her mouth. As soon as we were done snapping a few photos, we took Bailey off and quickly washed her hands in the sink.
