A funny story about potty breaks...one night right after Doug got home from work, I looked out our deck window to tell the girls that he was home and they should come inside for a few minutes. I see Abby standing buck naked in the middle of the yard with her swimsuit down to her ankles. I yelled out to see what was going on, and Emma peeks out from behind our blue spruce, also half naked (you guess which half). They informed me that they needed to go potty and didn't want to come inside. Since I am trying to raise girls that are modest, you can imagine how horrified I was...especially when I realized that the neighbors behind us were having a barbecue and had a full view of the whole debacle!! That was one of those moments where I had to laugh...but not let them see it as we explained why going potty in the back yard was not a good idea...Anywayz...
Lizzie has her own special baby pool (which I had to inflate with my mouth as we don't have an air pump). Emma was kind enough to help Lizzie sit up and play with some bath toys.

Lizzie thought that the warm water was great. This was her first real experience sitting up in water since she still lays down (for safety reasons) when she takes baths in the house.

Emma was very attentive to Lizzie. She picked up her toys and held her very carefully. It's such a great feeling to see how well the sisters get along. Lizzie adores Emma and Emma loves to make Lizzie smile and help me take care of her.

As soon as Lizzie was done, Emma jumped back in the water with Abby. I asked them to pose for the camera and got these three :
1.

2.

When they needed to dry off or were tired of being in the water, the girls enjoyed the swingset. The girls figured out how to do what Emma calls a "chair swing" on their own...since Abby doesn't know how to pump yet.

The summer has gone by all too fast. In just a couple of weeks, Doug will be off on a trip to Italy for 16 days and school will start again. And I am planning to begin homeschooling Emma with some kindergarten on August 24. Where does the time go?
